Organic yet geometric, Painted Shapes 03 by Danish artist Berit Mogensen Lopez expresses the layered and experimental way in which she builds up her compositions. A loose, curved grid of both warm and cooler colours moves across the canvas - with deep tones of navy blue and ochre giving way to lighter variations of blue, orange, grey and red. Faint transparencies in colour blocks emerge as they mix together, revealing the layering of forms combined to produce the final piece.
