The Pao lamp collection is an exciting collaboration with the prestigious Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. Taking its name from the soft, glowing shape of traditional Mongolian Pao tents illuminated at night, Fukasawa aimed to encapsulate the same warmth and atmospheric friendliness in the Pao glass pendant. Pao draws inspiration from Fukasawa's aesthetic of beautiful simplicity, creating an everyday object that draws on design values found in the natural world. By keeping the aesthetic modest and simple, he puts the design in harmony with its surroundings, reinforcing his main intention of making the environment pleasant and comfortable. In the Pao glass pendant, Fukasawa has developed a custom LED light source and diffuser, housed within the opal glass shade, offering a functional light output while allowing for a warm, homely glow. The functionality and deliberate simplicity of the design make it suitable for a wide range of spaces and uses in both domestic and corporate settings.
