Organic yet geometric, Painted Shapes 03 by Danish artist Berit Mogensen Lopez expresses the experimental and layered way in which she constructs her compositions. A loose, curving grid of warm and cool colors moves across the canvas, with deep shades of navy and ochre giving way to lighter variations of blue, orange, gray, and red. Faint transparencies in blocks of color emerge as they blend, revealing the layers of combined shapes that produce the final piece.
