MATERIAL
AISI 316L STAINLESS STEEL is an alloy with a low carbon content, universally recognized for its hygienic properties and excellent resistance to corrosion from external agents, particularly suitable for saline and sulfurous environments. AISI 316L stainless steel does not oxidize in contact with water or air, but rather creates a particularly resistant natural protective film. CEA cold-works the steel and therefore maintains the alloy's strength characteristics unaltered. All CEA products are not processed with galvanic treatments, in accordance with the sustainability principles that characterize the company's philosophy. Therefore, AISI 316L stainless steel is an ecological, completely recyclable, non-toxic, and highly hygienic material.
FINISHES
All products in the GASTONE collection are available in satin and polished finishes, obtained through a mechanical process, and in all CEA SPECIAL FINISHES (Black Diamond, Bronze, Copper and Light Gold). These special finishing treatments, made to customer order, are the result of careful chromatic selection and technological development based on a high-thickness deposition of zirconium and graphite powder mixtures. Through a vacuum evaporation process (plasma), the powders pass from a vapor phase and then back to a condensed thin-film phase. In this way, the steel surface is even more resistant to cleaning agents and salt air, and makes the surfaces scratch-resistant. In the Black Diamond finish, the surface is also protected from calcareous deposits, thanks to its self-lubricating characteristic that keeps the product clean for longer. The CEA special finishes emphasize the unique properties of AISI 316L stainless steel, increasing the shine and hardness of its surface. All CEA special finishes are ecological and biocompatible.
MAINTENANCE
To keep your faucets beautiful and durable, we recommend cleaning them periodically with products recommended for cleaning stainless steel. Rinsing and drying are essential to prevent the formation of limescale deposits. Do not use disinfectants such as bleach, chlorides, ethylene oxides, or non-ionic surfactants that may damage the product surface. Do not use detergents based on hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, phosphoric, or muriatic acid. Prefer the use of neutral pH detergents and, if necessary, only on steel parts, diluted isopropyl alcohol or diluted sodium carbonate. The latter is a versatile ecological detergent: it does not contain surfactants, phosphorus, dyes or perfumes. Avoid contact of steel surfaces with vapors from acidic products (muriatic and hydrochloric) or those based on sodium hypochlorite, bleach or ammonia. Do not use scouring pads or brushes of any kind, or abrasive detergents containing microscopic particles that can scratch the surfaces and spoil the satin and polished finish. To minimize the negative effects related to limescale buildup inside and outside the product, we recommend installing a water softening and filtration system.
Limescale deposits: Limescale and dirt deposits in the aerator filters can be dissolved by removing the aerator with its wrench and soaking it in a vinegar solution (maximum concentration of 20%) for a few hours, then rinse and dry it before reinstalling it.
Rust stains: To remove accidental stains resulting from semi-prolonged exposure to ferrous objects or even water with a high percentage of iron and manganese, it is recommended to gently rub the stain with a damp soft cloth and a specifically developed, non-abrasive, mild creamy cleaning product. Restore the protective film of the stainless steel by rinsing thoroughly with water and drying the surface.
Mechanical restoration: Stainless steel that is scratched or has excessive rust stains or chlorine damage caused by improper use can be restored through mechanical treatment.
For this type of intervention, it is recommended to contact exclusively an authorized CEA, CEADESIGN distributor who will perform the aforementioned treatment. However, the company reserves the right not to intervene if the conditions for recovery are severe.
