Normann Copenhagen presents the sofa Onkel

Onkel is a sofa that combines the simplicity of modern forms with the soft curves of old times. The outer layer of the sofa has a firm expression, while the cushions are comfortable and cozy.

The inspiration for the cushions is derived from the most typical rounded sofas of the pre-1950 era.

The materials used for the housing and dampers have been kept in the same color and there is no lacquered frame in a matching color. This gives simplicity in design and makes Onkel appear as a unified whole.

Simon Legald explains: "As a designer, I am curious about how materials work together with the idea. Onkel is a sofa that was designed in a dialogue between crafts and industry. In the creation of Onkel, I have revived old craft techniques and used them in a new context. In doing so, the details add character to the design
